In running the marathon, Leggit have decided to support two charities this year, one at home and one abroad. All fundraising is going through Just Giving. If you are a Leggit fan and have found our training programmes and running guides useful, any donations you can make to our charities would be much appreciated. Details on this years selected charities are below…
Five Talents
Five Talents is a charity which supports micro finance initiatives through providing small loans and training to entrepreneurs looking to set up their own businesses in countries where this help is not available from the government. They currently run schemes in countries such as Uganda, Tanzania, Dominican Republic, India and Bolivia.
We were introduced to Five Talents by www.fairinvestment.co.uk and really love the fact that they are all about empowering local entrepreneurs to help themselves and also that a small amount can have a direct impact on so many lives. A loan of £100 can help to set up a small Business providing 1 person with a job for 6 months and will help them support 5 family members.

Help For Heros
The other charity we are raising money to support is Help for Heroes, a great cause which raises money support members of the armed forces who are wounded in combat. Help for Heroes do a fantastic job of improving the lives of individuals who have sacrificed so much and for supporting the recovery and care for servicemen and women post combat.
As several members of the Leggit team have friends and family within the forces – many of whom have been out to Iraq and Afghanistan in the past few years this is a cause close to our hearts and the chance to make a real different here on the home front.
