MACSFIT are pleased to announce our BEGINNERS running club to start in January 2013.
We are a Chorley based fitness company promoting weight loss and weight gain instruction by means of body weight exercises.
We are offering Beginner running classes due to the vast number of people who have enquired through our club, wanting a beginner no experience required running club, that will slowly promote the health aspects at a time and place that suits them and at a cost that is affordable.
We will be setting up locations in Chorley, Euxton, Coppull and Buckshaw to start, and develop new locations throughout the year.
We feel that if people don’t want to get fir with our body weight exercises, but do like the idea of walking/jogging and running then we feel we can offer any novice the starting steps to possibly progress onto a more advanced running provider in the future.

Kempton Park Racecourse Run for Fun

Run for Fun is a 5k event taking place at Kempton Park Racecourse on Sunday 24th October 2010

The challenge is to complete the 5k lap of the racecourse, whether it be running, jogging, or walking.

All entrants will be asked to pay a small entry fee and commit to raising at least £50 in sponsorship, with all proceeds going to The Prince’s Trust.

In addition entrants are welcome to liven up the day by taking part in fancy dress! Prizes will be awarded for the most sponsorship raised and the best fancy dress costume.

Each entrant will receive a medal for completing the race, with a trophy presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

The event will also include entertainment, so whether it’s the entrants themselves, or their cheering fans, there will be lots to do for all those attending.

On India’s independence day, join us to remember those who fought for our freedom, the heroes who are somewhere lost in our history books and many who were not known. Lets celebrate the spirit of freedom, and the responsibility we share towards those whose freedom is still to be fought for.

The aim of the event is to raise funds to support ActionAid and their priority project in India: a safe haven for street children. This project is working towards helping children to stay off the streets and home them in safe ‘drop-in’ shelters, where they can get warm food, counseling, education, training and the chance to return home.

The video we’ve found is just a bit of fun although it’s surprising just how many points the team here at could relate to (yes we can eat our own body weight in pasta and proud of it!)

Running to beat Cancer – how far can you go?

Run 10K in Autumn 09 with Cancer Research UK to help raise funds and awareness for the charity and bring them closer still to finding a cure for Cancer. If you’re already familar with Race for Life but looking for a fresh running challenge then the Cancer Research 10K could be the charity run for you.

This year, Cancer Research are hoping to bring 60,000 runners on board to have fun and get fit. With an impressive fundraising target of £6 million, Cancer Research need all the help and support that UK runners have to offer. So whether you run competitively, or just enjoy a gentle jog; sign up to one of the 43 events which will be taking place across the UK this Autumn.

Whilst Autumn 09 may seem far away now, the Leggit team recommend a minimum of 8 weeks training in the build up to a 10K so now is the perfect time to start training as the first of the Cancer Research 10K events kick off on 6th September 2009. We always find that booking your place early in an event such as the Cancer Research 10K not only saves disappointment (as places are limited) but is also a great way of giving yourself a target or goal to train for. The running venues themselves are picturesque and should make for an enjoyable run – especially as the worst of the summer heat should be over by then! With everything from Ashton Court Mansion, to Longleat, Finsbury Park, to Delamere Forset, you really are spoilt for choice when it comes to this years running locations!
