Keep Your Eye on the Ball Run for Men

Everyman calls on supporters to join run

Everyman is calling on football supporters to get involved in a charity run to raise funds for one of the UK’s leading men’s cancer campaigns.

Everyman, which aims to raise awareness about prostate and testicular cancer, has joined forces with the FA and the PFA to host a series of football themed runs and help raise vital funds for research into these illnesses.

Following the success of the Keep Your Eye on the Ball Run in London, Everyman is offering football fans in the Sheffield area the opportunity to take part in either;

  • 5km (Start – 10am)
  • 10km (Start – 10.10am)

run around Rother Valley Country Park on Sunday 18 July 2010.

Last year more than 350 runners completed the London course and helped raise over £40,000 and this year Everyman hopes to do the same in Sheffield with the help of football fans.

All funds raised from the event go directly into Everyman’s vital cancer research some of which is carried out at the Everyman centre; Europe’s first research centre dedicated to understanding prostate and testicular cancer, developing improved treatments and, ultimately, finding cures.

Hull City goal and testicular cancer survivor, Matt Duke, has been involved in the run since it started. He said: “Taking part in the Keep Your Eye on the Ball run over the past few years has been a really fantastic experience.

“It gives lads a chance to get together and do something fun, while at the same time supporting a great cause. Testicular cancer is obviously an issue close to my heart so you can bet I will be at the first run in Sheffield!”

Registration for the 2010 runs is now open. Click here to go straight to the registration page.
