With less than 4 months to go until the Virgin London Marathon 2010 Leggit have been hard at work putting together a training programme for the long distance runners out there who are looking to attempt a Marathon in 2010.

Our beginners programme is ideal for those completing their first ever marathon and will build your stamina up to this distance over a sixteen week period.

As well as the support of the programme, you’ll also be pleased to know that one of Leggit’s own team members Sam is running the London Marathon this year so you’ll be able to follow his progress through his weekly training diary.

A training programme is a great way to keep motivated and to build up your strength and speed slowly and safely – 26.2 miles is no walk in the park and the last thing you want is to over exert yourself and cause an injury. Our training programmes are written by our resident Personal Trainer Pete Morton who specialises in running. The training programme teaches you how to pace yourself and trains you to recognise the difference between running at a easy, medium or hard pace (rather than flat out all of the time).
