Brighton Marathon

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

It’s not too late to grab yourself a place in this popular new marathon, now in its third years with over 18,000 participants. Marie Curie Cancer Care still have some charity places available for £45, we would also ask you to raise £500 in Sponsorship. The race route for the Brighton Marathon starts with a loop of gorgeous Preston Park, and then takes in the best of the city centre including Brighton Pavilion and fabulous stretches of coastal road, including panoramic views that you’d expect where the glorious South Downs meet the English Channel. Of course, entirely free of traffic, there are some undulations in the route, principally in the first 11 miles of the race, while the last 15 miles is either flat or downhill. The last miles are the same as before; so the runners will still face the test along Basin Road South and enjoy running through thousands of spectator’s along the Promenade before finishing on Madeira Drive, just east of the brilliant Brighton Pier. You will receive plenty of support on route by our Marie Curie Cheerers and be welcomed back at the post race reception at the finish line for well earned refreshments

We help raise money for the latest technology and equipment vital in this fast moving field. We also support research programmes and fund state of the art building projects and refurbishments. We have raised almost £40 million since 1984 when the charity first began.
